Bad, bad humans.

Please don't watch the dolphin show at SM Mall of Asia. Please. Don't even go to Ocean Adventure in Subic either. Read why you shouldn't support these kinds of businesses here and here.

I don't even agree with the tiger "sanctuary" (oh please...) in Zoobic. It's just plain horrible and exploitative. Anuba. >:(

Manic Monday.

Yesterday started in a panic with several domestic errands and the frantic effort to get to a PLDT business center before my landline gets disconnected because I completely forgot to pay the bill before the due date. By the time I finished with house stuff, the Marcos Highway branch was already closed for 15 minutes. The only PLDT offices open were the ones in SM Megamall, SM Centerpoint, SM North and other SM branches my geographically challenged mind couldn't place. I chose the lesser of (commute) evils: Megamall.

On my way I called Joey to ask if he was in the area. We agreed to meet at the mall after our respective errands were done.

I was done paying for my bill in less than 10 minutes so I decided to hang out in Book Wagon while I waited for Joey to arrive. After some time looking through several nicely illustrated children's books, I heard the shopkeeper exclaim, "Ay, natumba 'yung ale!" I turned around and saw a woman in her early 50s (I'm guessing her age) sprawled on the floor right in front of the book store, and a man who was helping her get back up on her feet. Old woman was in pain and remained lying on her side on the floor. I rushed out of the store to ask her what was wrong.

Apparently the man was wandering around the 5th floor lost and confused, and he had just asked directions from a security guard when he turned around and bumped into the woman who was coming from the opposite direction. She landed on her hip and couldn't sit, much less stand up.

The nice Book Wagon shopkeeper brought out three wooden footstools and we had the woman lie across them on her back while I cradled her head in my lap. I asked the security guard to have emergency mall staff bring a stretcher. He mumbled a bunch of instructions into his two-way radio, then asked the man for an ID and took notes.

After waiting for several minutes and feeling the beginnings of severe thigh cramps, I asked the guard again when help would arrive. All this time the woman was clutching my arm and moaning in pain. The guy then took over the head-cradling part while I talked to the woman. I was beginning to worry she might have broken her hip or any of her bones.

Several more minutes passed and a staff arrived with a wheelchair. I was getting really annoyed. "Bakit wheelchair??? Dapat stretcher!"

The guards insisted in transferring her to the chair. The woman already felt the excruciating pain just lying flat on her back, and she yelped even louder when they tried placing her in a sitting position. I reiterated my request for a stretcher ("We can't move her in that! Baka makadagdag pa sa injury niya!") and an additional pillow to support her pelvic area while she half-sat-half-laid down on the wheelchair.

We waited some more. Her daughter arrived with several shopping bags and her little girl who was already crabby and tired. The son arrived after a fashion. Still no stretcher. For the nth time, I asked the guard, "Nasaan na ang emergency staff ninyo? Di ba dapat ang mga mall meron nun? Wala ba kayong stretcher? Plywood na makapal? 'Yung mga ginagamit sa mga stage-stage ninyo? Paano kung life and death situation ito? Wala na? Ganun na lang???" He blabbed more instructions into the radio.

Finally (after what must have been an hour or more after the incident), real help arrived, courtesy of a clinic tenant on the 2nd or 3rd floor. (Clinica Manila? I can't remember the name.) The guards gently lifted the woman onto the gurney. She was still holding onto my arm. I told the daughter that she should have her mom get an x-ray. She nodded and gave her thanks. Then they wheeled her off.

I went back inside Book Wagon and resumed browsing. Joey had already missed all the action by the time he arrived. I bought a Jon J. Muth-painted children's book then we went to Cavana for slightly late dinner.

As soon as we had our fill of yummy Cavana chicken we headed for 70s Bistro where Marie and the Worms were celebrating three birthdays and three Rock Awards wins with lots of free beer and good music.

FUN!!! Saw lots of people I didn't know I missed, and caught up with a few tidbits here and there. And I found out that one of the best ways to unwind is to witness the Worms perform "Napakasakit, Kuya Eddie" in front of an audience with varying levels of inebriety. Hahaha. ;-D

I had a long chat with Marie who was as funny and loud as she can get when drunk. Ü I went home some time after 2:30 a.m. with a few cocktails in my gut and a warm fuzzy feeling all over. (It must be the alcohol, eh? Heheh.)

Wafu!

Ang I.n.K. illustrated a dozen of stories written by children, commissioned by the publisher, Papica Foundation. The May Kuwento Po Ako book launch cum benefit concert was held at Aliw Theater and we were given a bunch of tickets to see this guy perform:

Heh heh heh.

I'm not a fan, pero in fairness, wafu talaga siya.

(I'm posting these for the benefit of friends who are secret fans of Piolo Pascual. Hehe.)

Really.

Ako raw 'yung Miss Universe ng buhay niya. Whatever that means. Hahah.

I'm still not a fan, but he sings well live ha.

You don't believe me, do you?

(Sige kayo, I'll name names.)

Actually it wasn't just Piolo who read poetry and performed a bunch of songs. Jay-R, Erik Santos and Pops Fernandez were there, too. (Pro-bono gig, I heard.)

Young authors signed books after the show.

Aside from winning the writing contest sponsored by the foundation, they also received college scholarships. How cool is that?

Schmoozing with Francis J. Papica, the foundation head honcho. (Loki making faces in the background.)

Thanks to jedi_remus for some of the pics and for the use of his trusty camera. (n_n)

Happy Feet and the Order of the Phoenix.

Earlier this afternoon Beejay messaged me asking if I wanted to go to the Happy Feet premiere at Rockwell and I said yes. (Which Potterhead wouldn't? I wanted to see that movie primarily for the bundled Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix teaser trailer. Heheh.) ;-Þ

As soon as the familiar 3d-WB-logo-against-dark-skies image flashed onscreen we squealed giddily like schoolgirls. Hahah. Pero nakakabitin.

Happy Feet is such a fun (and funny) movie! Robin Williams is golden, as usual. I want a penguin.

And despite my aversions towards mascots (or unrecognizable people in product-endorsing costumes), we all went crazy over Baby Mumble waddling outside the theater after the movie. Heehee!

Homaygaz I can hardly wait for this! Ang skeery!

July 13! But I hear the Philippine premiere is two days earlier. Wheee!

Congratulations!

I survived a nice wedding in a slightly torn entourage dress. Heheh! Congratulations to Ayoy and Daniel! Finally. (n_n)

[Ick. Crappy pics, I know. I don't have a proper camera at the moment.] :-(

Here's Thor and I fooling around with two camera phones at Wilmer's place:

Stuck in traffic:

Nibbling on the sugar flower on the wedding cupcake:

Oh, and I had my highlights dyed purple for the ocassion. I'm liking it now. Hee. (n_n) Can't wait to see better pics. It sux not to have a camera on hand.

Wedding weekends.

My friends and I have been busy with a couple of girlfriends' wedding preparations. Last Sunday we threw a bridal shower party for Ayoy.

It started out as wholesome fun with lots of good food and a few parlor games--

Ayoy and her cousin Lea modelling their toilet paper wedding gowns

--and we handed out recipe cards (which I hand painted and which Istin digitally reproduced) for guests to fill up with their own cooking contributions because Ayoy doesn't know how to cook (just like me hehe).

It slowly turned into a raunchy night of jokes, double entendres and outright iskandalo.

Istin pretending to look shocked. But she wrote that word really. Haha.

Pero wagi itong game na ito:

[The answer stuck on the back of the hat is "Sinigang".]

Marnie: Nakakain ba ito?
Ayoy: Oo!
Marnie: Ulam?
Ayoy: Oo!
Marnie: Maalat?
Ayoy: Urhmmm, hinde.
Marnie: Maasim?
Ayoy: OO!!!
Marnie: Barbecue?

Hahahah!

[I left out all the other details to protect the, errrm, innocent and the pretending to be innocent. Hihihi.]

Two weeks after Yoyi's wedding on Saturday is Sel's wedding. Hectic! (n_n)

Trick or treat.

Trick.

I attended the New Worlds Alliance Halloween Ball last night at the Hard Rock Café in my Josie and the Pussycats rockstar get-up. Some time during the intermission a magician (who happens to be Bobby Manox's expat boss) went onstage for his hatful of tricks. As magic shows usually go, Mr. Campbell asked for a couple of volunteers. Rej enthusiastically volunteered for me and I was called onstage.

I thought I was going to save myself from further embarassment by being game about it so I went together with the guy Rej and the others volunteered for. After asking a few run-of-the-mill questions about myself and showing the audience his props for the next trick, Mr. Campbell then proceeded to tie two bandannas together with a knot. He stuffed the knotted ends down the front of my tank top (!), and he held the loose corner of one bandanna, while the other volunteer held the other one. He informed the audience that he intended to pull the knotted bandannas through my body.

I held fast to my tank top as they counted to three. I had no idea how the old guy did it, but instead of making the things pass through my upper torso, he pulled the bandannas out of my top revealing a white brassiere knotted in between. Then everybody laughed. It was a pretty amazing trick, but how I wish it wasn't me up there on stage getting teased about that bra. It definitely wasn't mine.

*****

Treat.

Last Saturday our village had a (somewhat advanced) trick or treat thing for the kids. My sister had me set up the chocolate fountain while she and my nephew prepared the treats for the kiddies.

Here's Kyla and Kiwi dressed up for the event. Heheh.

...

Yesterday afternoon right before that Hard Rock fiasco, I went to Ayala Heights with a bunch of INKie friends to judge the Halloween Costume event thingy. The heat was unbearable but it was fun! It was amazing to see how all these kids put up with fussy parents just for this event. Heheh.

Bubble girl! She's very cute and she always poses for the camera when asked nicely.

This little Cleopatra won last year when she did Kampanerang Kuba, complete with facial prosthetics. She didn't get a prize this year though.

Chick boy. One of our co-judges wore a chicken suit. I should have taken a photo of him with this kid and Oishi's Cuckoo bird (who was also at the event).

Ito ang career! This very well-behaved baby won the top prize for her age group. It looked liked her parents took a lot of pains converting the baby stroller into a giant clam, complete with seaweeds and fish toys.

Siguro taga-Mountain Province ang batang ito. Heheh. I bet when that kid turns 15 he will burn all his bahag photos and cringe at the indignity his parents made him go through. Hehehe.

There were several Superboys at the event, but this boy was the cutest by far. He kept making cute faces at us while he went up on stage with the other kids for the costume parade. Pogi! (n_n)

Police boy was caught checking out military boy's belt gear.

Race car driver almost ran over my foot with his battery operated wheels.

The hippy chick and the lady bug.

Oh lookee. A little padawan! He could sever his arm with that light saber thingy.

Afro girl.

And the top winner is -- SUGAT! SUGAT! SUGAT! -- the severe head trauma patient. It was tough picking just one winner but we decided this boy should get the prize 'cause he went outright gross while the rest of the kids went the scary-cute route. And besides, ang galing ng kanyang homemade costume! Heheh.

Judges' photo op with the winnah! Hee. Ü (Not in photo: Brendan, who was holding the phonecam. Heheh.)

ABOUT THE EXHIBIT

TIPON: Artists Organizing shifts away from the traditional focus on individual artistic genius in recognition of the creativity, inspiration, and accomplishments derived from working together.

Six groups from different parts of the country are featured in TIPON to represent a sampling of contemporary art groups. More than merely anchoring on regional identities, the exhibit tells of different motives and bases for artists to come together and organize themselves. It also looks into how the groups, in the process, awaken to their own identity as an artist community, and how they contribute to the development of individual members, of the art scene, and of society at large. Each group establishes their unmistakable character in TIPON.

Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (Ang I.N.K.), an organization of children's books illustrators, makes a statement on how the group is perceived to be as carefree as their creations, contrary to the maturity and professionalism that is required and delivered to make everything appear as child's play.

Anting-Anting, based in Cavite, simulates an artist's studio to put forward the experience of personal friendships and shared artistic fervor that sustain the tight-knit group.

The Pampanga Arts Guild articulates their pride on the Kapampangan cultural identity that is strongly bonded to the environment. The group rose to the challenge of the Pinatubo eruption with artistic passion and creativity.

Davao Artists' Foundation reflects on a common aspiration to resolve identities and other contentious concerns within their group, an umbrella organization of smaller art groups in Davao.

Lunâ Art Collective from Cebu engages the community in their public art by dealing with socio-political issues. In the exhibit, they present a street shrine to a local Cebuano who has fallen victim to violence.

Produksyon Tramontina, a Bacolod-based group, came to life with the advent of affordable and availability of digital film technology. They merge spectatorship and active participation in their video installation for the exhibit.

TIPON: Artists Organizing will be on view at the Upper Galleries of the Metropolitan Museum from October 20 until February 23, 2006.

The Metropolitan Museum is located at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas
Complex, Roxas Boulevard, Manila. Museum hours are 10am – 6pm, Monday to Saturday. For inquiries, call 523-7855 or 536-1566, or email info@metmuseum.ph.

Conversations.

Thursday

Met up with Kathy, Zarah and Owel at Gerry's Park Square.

I proposed a toast "to better lovelives."

Owel protested. "Bakit lovelife lang? Bakit hindi life in general na lang?"

Zarah saw my point immediately. "Kasi kapag okay ang lovelife, the rest will follow."

And I said, "Financial and personal success, we can pretty much manage on our own. Family problems, we can solve up to a certain point. Ang pera pwedeng kitain. Pero ang lovelife, prayers na lang 'yan."

And so the four of us raised our cocktail glasses and beer bottles "to better lovelives."

*****

An Usher DVD was playing on the overhead projector.

Owel: Sorry, I can't dance. My crotch is wet.

Friday

After Indi's despedida get-together at CPK Glorietta, I tagged along with Luis and Yvette to EBTG Night at Big Sky.

Chimay beer. Chillitees. More toasts to better lovelives. Girl love. (Hee.)

That seven meme.

And here's where I post seven songs currently on heavy rotation:

  • Lonely Day (Phantom Planet) - I must have played this more than 7 times today. It's such a happy-sad song. I therefore declare this week my Phantom Planet week.

  • Out There (Blake Babies) - My favoritest Blake Babies song. I looove the way Juliana Hatfield sings "you know it's stupi-id."

  • Rudderless (The Lemonheads) - I was just on a Lemonheads/Blake Babies phase (ahhh early college memories!) before I moved on to this week's favorite. I heard they're going on tour for the new album (!!!) this November, and I'm sooo bummed I live too far away to catch a glimpse of hotness Evan Dando.

  • Don't Let Go (Weezer) - I just can't resist singing the oooh woh woh part. Oh what fun. (n_n)

  • Ben Gibbard singing Backstreet Boys' I Want It That Way - It's funny and endearing, the way Ben sings it. Hee. <3

  • Eleanor Rigby (The Beatles) - Listening to this always makes me wish I knew how to play the violin. And it still makes me wonder where all the lonely people come from.

  • Sidewalk (Built to Spill) - What hasn't changed for you... Ah, this band sounds like several of my favorite bands rolled into one. I can almost feel a Built to Spill phase coming up...

I'll just tag anyone who hasn't done their seven current favorites.

* Contrary to popular belief, my second name wasn't the combined form of my parents' names but was actually taken from that darned musk. Well at least I was lucky enough that my parents didn't have combine-able names (or they weren't stupid enough to try) and I didn't end up with stupid ass names like Jerebeth or Meldwin.

Staying alive.

Ah ah ah ah staying alive...

Death by ennui. I know I should be thankful 'cause I didn't have it as bad as hundreds/thousands of people. The power was back on very early last Friday, and nothing much was damaged except for some toppled down patio plants.

No t.v., no computer games, no music, no internet (homaygaz withdrawals!) last Thursday. The kids, my mom and I played Taboo earlier in the day, but my mom kept saying all the bawal words and she was being such a sore loser (hahaha) so we kept the game within an hour. Late afternoon I tried reading the annotations of From Hell by candle light but my eyes could only take a few chapters of heavily inked pages at a time. Note to self: Gabbing on the phone for hours was definitely the most feasible and entertaining way to pass the time in the dark when you're not sleepy.

Our Tagaytay trip was obviously cancelled postponed 'cause other than the fact that the SLEX toll gates were out of commission at the time, it was pointless to go out of town just to twiddle our thumbs in the dark. At least here at home we had the juice back the morning after the storm. Gadsh, rescheduling a trip with a bunch of artists is going to be a logistical nightmare hahahah...

Vacation was replaced with work when Jan came over Friday night with insta-raket. And I've been working since. Well, at least I'm not bored to death anymore. :-P

Sunday babysitter.

Took my nieces to our I.N.K. activity at Riverbanks today. While Kuya Jun of Alitaptap entertained the audience with three stories, Guia, Loki and I did some amateur, on-the-fly face painting. Nakaka-challenge ha.

"Hi! Anong gusto mong i-paint natin?"

"Gusto ko ng Captain Barbell!"

"Naku, hindi namin alam 'yun!"

"E Batman?"

"Ay Batman! Dun ka kay Ate Guia."

"Sige Superman na lang."

"Ha? Pano 'yun?"

"'Yung may 'S'!"

(whispering) "Aba demanding."

I decided I won't ask the kids anymore.

"Wow, ang ganda naman ng shirt mo! Puro hearts! Lagyan kita ng heart sa face ha?"

Hahaha. It was fun anyways. Then we checked out the cute dogs at the Activity Center where a Dog Show was being held. Kaaliw. Hee. Ü

I managed to bring the kids home safely before dinner and before the rain started to pour like mad.

Masarap 'yung Oishi Pillows ube flavor. Wala lang. (n_n)

Oh, and the Riverbanks run of Sa Tabi-Tabi Po! is extended until the second week of October. 'Yun lang. Ü

Jobs that pay the bills.

I hate sequential art. That means storyboarding and standard comic book panelling. But I've a meeting with an ad agency for storyboarding later. Don't ask me why I agreed to do this.

Then there's this über-third world project with UNICEF and DOH-- something about health and uhm, intestinal worms. Bleeech. Hahaha. Challenge ito.

Argh the things I must do to earn money... *sigh*

Security.

For the first time in 9 years a building security facility detected the brass knuckles inside my bag.

(Weird that it hasn't happened before when I've been to a lot of high security places and the house of the British Ambassador. Mall and transport security inspections don't count, the routine's just for show anyway.)

I went to UNICEF for new project briefing today. For some strange reason I forgot to put my brass knuckles inside my jeans pocket (today of all days, when everyone is uber-praning because it's the 9/11 anniversary), and when I placed my bag on the x-ray conveyor belt at the United Nations office, the guards found the thing, and asked me to leave it with them.

After the meeting the guards returned the offending object without question and I went on my way.

Hah. Buti na lang hindi ako nakulong or anything. Kinabahan ako dun. (o_O)

Stage fright.

I had a planned schedule today: arrive early at ingress and finish set up before 3 p.m.; check mail and my KoL character; freshen up and get ready for the Sapatos Festival closing ceremonies at 6 p.m.; scoot over to Cubao X and watch Outerhope perform; and finally, catch up with the guys at pokahhh night. But internal office politics and the drenching kind of rain happened.

Insta-ingress team (myself, Jodi, Oro, Cheps & her beau) experienced delays over artwork turnover and venue schedule conflicts at the Marikina City Hall. While the others had lunch, I slipped out with Ayoy briefly for a fitting session with her wedding coutourier and lunch, then returned to the Marikina City Hall where we waited some more. We transferred our exhibit to Kapitan Moy, set up everything ourselves, and finished past 7 p.m.

I didn't have time to go home and change (the City Hall guys were looking for us at Teatro Marikina as early as 6 p.m.), so I asked Jodi to tell Liza to pick me up at Kapitan Moy.

I attended the closing ceremony in my most dugyot glory-- sneakers, jeans, a band shirt. Imagine the horror on my face when we saw all these people in formal wear milling about at the lobby. EEEK. (o_O)

Liza and I were ushered to take front row seats to watch the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra perform while waiting for the intermission segment. The PPO performed bits from Annie the musical (awesome!) which almost made us burst into song and dance. As the orchestra piped out the opening bars of the theme from Superman, the former first lady Imelda Marcos sashayed into the theater and took her place a few seats away from us. Talk about a grand entrance. And it prompted all video/photographers and media people to gather round us. My ingress dugyotness was immortalized in the form papparazzi photography/videography. How. Annoying. And. Embarassing.

One of the highlights of the night was seeing and hearing MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando, former senator Joey Lina and DILG Secretary Angelo Reyes sing Tonight, Tonight (West Side Story) with orchestral accompaniment. May career sila sa stand up comedy and music kung hindi na sila mamumulitika. Hahah. It was actually fun to see and listen to them when they're not talking politics.

And despite all pleas to have myself excluded from the intermission segment, I was called onstage with Liza to shake hands with the mayor and the vice mayor. On behalf of Ang I.N.K. we received a plaque of recognition as "Marikina City Ambasadors of Arts and Cultural Excellence", an ordinance declaring Ang I.N.K. as honorary citizens of Marikina City, and a gold plated key to the city. (A key!!! Huwaaat!) To top it all off, we have a permanent marker mounted near the entrance to the main theater. (There are five markers, one each for Ang I.N.K., Ballet Philippines, Rock Ed, Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra and Philippine Madrigal Singers.) Naks. Sikat. Haha.

We slipped out of the theater during PPO's second set. Ang lakas ng ulan! We had to borrow a nice stranger's umbrella so we can walk to the car and leave. Liza and I had very late dinner at Krung Thai (mmm) afterwards, then we both went home.

I was still supposed to catch the Lomo Love event and pokahhh night, but I heeded Marnie's advice and stayed home instead because of the hellish commute in the rain. I missed a gig and had to content myself with talking to the pokahhh guys on the landline instead. Sux.

*****

Gadsh I'm sooo tired. And this is a very long post. Pffft.

Sapatos Festival.

The exhibit at the Marikina City Hall opened today, but I didn't get to witness the opening ceremonies. (I was informed the event was to start at 9, but it all happened 8 a.m.) I arrived in time for the cocktails and shook hands with the mayor. Over pasta and crunchy ube dessert (I dunno what it's called) I silently panicked with Liza and Conrad before we headed for the quadrangle where 28 Marikina Science High School students waited for us for the rubber foam workshop.

It was fun to watch these kids work on their shoe hats (errr... shoes for the head). We even went on overtime because everyone, including the two supervising teachers, was so immersed on the project.

Success! Yay! (n_n)

Earlier today Guia, Vane and I set up the Tabi Po exhibit at the Marikina City Hall quadrangle in time for the Sapatos Festival opening ceremonies on Monday. We were at the venue 10:30 a.m., and we finished past 6. Nakakapagod. Pero mukhang sulit naman ang effort. Buti na lang di nag-inarte ang hika ko ngayon. Hayyy ang tagal na nito. Pahinga mode na muna ako.

Relieved.

I am happy to report that our adopted stray is a responsible mommy after all. After a few sniffs (and a few meows from the kittens), she took all three back with her. (Not at the same time, though-- she took Blue yesterday morning, and the other two an hour ago when I offered them to her at the kitchen window during stimulation duty.)

That certainly increases the kittens' chances of survival. *whew*

My mommy days are short-lived. Heh heh. (n_n)

Meowmmy.

Been down with asthma since Thursday from the smell of chemically treated wood. I'm currently exiled to my room until the odor goes away. :-(

*****

The first floor ceiling boards were taken down last Friday, and the guys who did it retrieved three cute orange kittens. Our adopted feral stray Gold probably found her way and kept her litter there less than a couple of weeks ago.

But when we attempted several times to show her the kittens she ran away hissing. She kept coming back to the open space above our dining room, calling out to her kittens, but every time we took them to her she greeted them with hostility.

The asthma kept me in bed most of the time but today I had to go out to buy a pet feeding bottle and a puppy/kitten milk replacement formula with a desperate hope to keep the kittens alive. I was glad the Marikina Veterinary Clinic was open on a Sunday evening (they were on overtime, thank goodness) and the assistant there was very kind with my request.

I did a quick detour to Filbars to pick up my copy of Eternals #3, then I went home immediately. My mom and the spawn-machine had the kittens wrapped in towels when I arrived. I tied braided colored string around each of their necks so we can easily tell which one we have already attended to. (They've temporarily acquired their names from the color coding heh heh.) Then came the hard part: teaching the kittens how to feed from a bottle.

They rejected the silicone teat at first, but Blue was a fast learner. He was the biggest of the three, and the noisiest, too. Ang cute cute niya! First time kong maka-experience ng bottle feeding ng kuting. Ü The other two, Red and Yellow, weren't as active. They looked like they might not make it. (Their skin showed signs of dehydration.) My mom started to use a dropper to force feed them instead.

After the kittens had had their fill, I started stimulating their bowels. Apparently, mommy cats lick the kittens' behinds to stimulate the flow of pee and poop because very young kittens can't do it on their own yet (I learn new things everyday!); as the new mommy I get to do the dirty job (no, I did not lick, you filthy freak, I used a damp Q-tip). When I did it to the first kitten, all my feelings of disgust were replaced with curiosity and amusement. Heh heh.

(I got tips from the awesome people over at cat's lair. Thanks everyone!)

I really hope these really cute kittens survive. It will make risking my asthmatic lungs and spending all that money worth it.

Look-alike?

I posted a fun, fun thing over at elchay which I swiped from Gay. Heh heh... Check it out. Ü

Today I had to relocate my puter temporarily due to severe noise and pollution factors downstairs, but sadly, I don't have floor/table space anywhere near the phone line (despite several extension sockets and cords). The huge monitor now sits on my bed. My hardbound copy of Polaroids from the Dead acts as a makeshift mousepad. I think it's gonna be like this for a week or two. Sux.

Love travels at illegal speeds.

WOOHOO!!! Five months late and I don't care. Happiness is Graham's newest CD with bonus DVD. Ü (Special thanks to Thor and Ate Faye for the HMV errand.)

Too bad I can't play the DVD here because it's in PAL format (my DVD-ROM won't read it, and the JVC only plays NTSC, namimili pa, bwiset).

In certain songs I can hear Graham's old Blur sound again. I think the over-all mood mostly took off from the previous album, Happiness in Magazines. The guitars are brilliant, as always and as expected. Oh love. Hee. <3

On the subject of new things, I dyed my almost-orange highlights D.I.Y. style yesterday (because I don't have at least three hours salon time). Now it's a violent shade of cherry pink. The P20 carton of dye said Purple Red but I love the new color anyway. Huwag lang ako mababasa ng ulan. Heheh. I need a hot oil treatment. And I miss my hairdresser. *sigh*

Earlier this afternoon on my way to our exhibit ingress I survived probably one of the most horrific train-stuffing MRT experiences ever, one that would defy existing laws of matter. I'm sooo tired. And I have to prepare for a looong day tomorrow. Exhibit opening na! Punta kayo. Ü
